DN Dance: "Striving to be the best dance school in Edinburgh!"

DN Dance strives to be one of the top dance schools in Edinburgh. Well, based on the sheer joy that shines of the faces of their pupils, we think they’ve cracked it!

DN Dance provide dance lessons to students in Edinburgh and the surrounding area.  As their reputation continues to grow, they needed a new location to reflect this along with the need for more space.

Amos Beech was approached initially to look at potential vacant units to see if there was a fit for their needs and once a location was identified as suitable, we then provided a detailed cost schedule for the project. This allowed DN Dance to secure their funding for the project and move forward.

A vibrant and welcoming space

Working with the DN Dance team, we designed a vibrant and welcoming space for young people that met a budget that was not excessive, given the market constraints brought on by the pandemic.

Amos Beech provided a full range of services including managing the Building Warrant application process for the client. This is a legal requirement and should be factored into the time line for any project.

Proof of how flexible the Amos Beech construction team is, is the installation of specialist sprung floors for the dance studios that we installed. So if you have something that you think is a little bit off the beaten track, get in touch with us because we probably have done something similar before!

New kitchen and break out area for Trainline Edinburgh

Trainline is Europe’s leading train and coach app. Trainline aims to bring together all rail, coach and other travel services into one simple experience and give people smart, real-time travel info on the go.

Trainline approached Amos Beech with the urgent need to accommodate more staff to their call centre area within the existing office. The first phase of the ongoing refurbishment project is the major re-design of the staff kitchen and breakout space which did not meet the client’s needs.

Corporate kitchen design and office refurbishement for Trainline Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Trainline offices are situated at Tanfield, an established commercial location for central Edinburgh.

With the Trainline business expanding at such a fast pace, time was of the essence to create a stunning design that both reflected the brand and met the practical needs, both in terms of facilities but also to the right furniture for the dining and lounge spaces.

Corporate kitchen design and fit out

The kitchen itself is a fully integrated self-service zone for staff including built-in microwaves, dishwashers, and larder fridges plus water points and a separate coffee area exclusively for drinks. A separate hand washing sink was incorporated late-on in the process as fit-out commenced during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

The space doubles as an area perfectly suited to host trainline’s multiple social events.

The result is a large, open practical facility; welcoming and verging on the current “resimercial” design trend – the merging of a residential approach with commercial interior design.

The palette is modern and muted bringing in soft tones and biophilia to enhance the comfortable nuance to the space.

Office refurbishment and Laboratory fit-out for Fugro

Fugro’s Edinburgh office undertakes marine environmental and chemistry data analysis, interpretation and reporting. Having been located within the Heriot Watt Research Park for many years, Fugro had outgrown their current premises and were looking to move to purpose-built new laboratories and offices located within the same Research Park. Amos Beech were delighted to be involved at lease stage, working with both the Landlord and Tenant to ensure that the building was designed and built to meet Fugro’s requirements.

Office refurbishment on Heriot Watt Research Park

Working closely with the Landlord, Amos Beech took on the Planning & Building Warrant applications to enable the office refurbishment of Fugro’s exciting new premises. The existing building was a shell that had lain empty for several years…the only tenants being of the furry nature. The building works involved CAT A fit-out comprising of new ceilings, partitions, flooring, kitchen, WC’s, showers and a full contractor designed Mechanical and Electrical Installation including new water, gas and electrical mains connections.

Fully fitted out Laboratories

Working closely with the Fugro Team on the CAT B Fit-Out works we then took the project to completion with fully fitted out Laboratories, Office Space, Warehouse and cold storage. Cat B Works comprised of external enabling works, full BMS system including AHU’s, fume extract system, AC systems, IT & Data installation, Lab benching, freezer room, office and breakout space. Works involved many sub-contractors which was a challenging aspect as we were off-site for a few months during lockdown and returned to a new way of working. Our team rose to the challenge, the fit-out was completed and our Client was delighted!
