At Amos Beech we have a strong connection with trees as beech wood has been used in the manufacture of office furniture for years. In fact, the ‘beech nut’ has been part of our branding for years and today is defined within the logo as an actual tree… which is exactly how we have come to do what we do!

We take our responsibility seriously, not just in relation to our customer performance and satisfaction but also in relation to the environment. 

The management and all who work at Amos Beech are committed to the care of the environment and the prevention of pollution. In order to ensure the achievement of the above commitments, the Amos Beech team has implemented an Environmental Management System which satisfies the requirements of ISO 14001 : 2015. As part of this we use responsibly sourced timber and timber products.

13 trees per 1000 square foot

Trees for Life is Scotland's leading conservation volunteering charity and works on the restoration of Scotland's ancient Caledonian Forest in the Scottish Highlands.

In 2017 we established our grove as part of our CSR, we plant 13 trees per 1000 SqFt of refurbished and fitted out office space.

The 13 trees per 1000 Square feet is chosen in close consultation with Trees for Life as a general guide for a healthy woodland.

Just imagine walking through your new office, realising that the same amount of space now represents a new forest with trees, other plants and wildlife!

Dundreggan Estate at Glen Affric has been rewilded by Trees for Life since they purchased it in 2008. Here they plant trees to create a new wild forest, allow the forest to recover through natural regeneration and test new tree growing and land management techniques.

The land is now recovering from centuries of grazing and browsing by sheep, goats, cattle and deer. Over 4,000 species of plants and animals are found at Dundreggan, including many rare and protected species.

The actual process of planting a young tree is not difficult but it must be done properly and with care. It is a bit like creating a new office environment; better leave that to the experts 🙂. In the world of forest planting you need to look at the type of tree, the correct environment, the location and consider future growth. It is the same with the interior design and fit-out of an office environment. Trees grow and so do most companies.

The mission is to rewild the Scottish Highlands by enabling the restoration of the globally unique Caledonian Forest which once covered much of Scotland.
